IBMC proudly supported the opening of the Ocean Prosperity Academy in Amed, Bali, including sponsoring the official launch event and the accompanying underwater and beach cleanup initiative.

Ocean Prosperity Academy is a purpose-built learning space rooted in a simple but powerful belief: that when people understand the ocean, they protect it. The academy represents a new approach to ocean education, making it accessible, relevant, and closely connected to the communities that live alongside it.

The opening event brought together participants from across the local community, including students, educators, divers, and collaborators. Alongside the launch, an underwater and beach cleanup was carried out, resulting in a total of 858 kilograms of waste collected from the ocean and surrounding coastal areas.

IBMC has been a continuous supporter of Ocean Prosperity, regularly sponsoring underwater cleanup initiatives across Bali. Supporting the Ocean Prosperity Academy is a natural extension of this partnership, combining direct environmental action with long-term education and community engagement.

Located in Amed, a coastal village whose identity and livelihood are closely connected to the sea, the academy places learning directly within the environment it seeks to protect. Through workshops, collaborative sessions, and community discussions, participants are encouraged to engage actively and connect global ocean challenges with their own daily lives.

The academy is built on the conviction that ocean education should be accessible to everyone, not only specialists. By reducing the distance between learning and everyday life, it creates the conditions for communities to move from awareness to ownership, and from ownership to long-term responsibility.

“We want this to be a place where anyone can walk in, feel welcome, and leave with something meaningful,” said Eka Ketut, Project Coordinator at Ocean Prosperity Academy. “When people see the ocean as part of their own story, caring for it becomes natural.”

For IBMC, supporting initiatives like Ocean Prosperity Academy reflects a broader commitment to contributing to Indonesia beyond business. By investing in education, community-driven initiatives, and sustainability, IBMC aims to support long-term development and positive impact.

IBMC is honored to support Ocean Prosperity and its growing ecosystem of initiatives, and looks forward to continuing its involvement in projects that bring together education, environmental action, and community engagement.
